Spring Print Offer 2010
The Nest
I exhibited this print last year at The London Salon of Photography but have not yet offered it for sale or put it on my website galleries, so I am now offering it here as a discounted 'pre-release' offer for just the first 10 prints.
I am very fond of this image, which I exposed during an autumn trip along Montana's Hi-Line with some good friends from that state.
The Hi-Line runs along the north of Montana, just below the Canadian border. The area is generally sparsely populated and this nature reserve was barren and empty of people.
It was late in the day, the light was getting low and the sky was taking on a wonderful atmospheric and slightly threatening appearance.
In the distance to our left I spotted this collection of barren trees, one of which contained a large nest and was an obvious focal point. On reaching the copse I finally selected a low viewpoint and a wide lens to bring this tree into the foreground and arranged the other trees as smaller onlookers in the background. It seemed to speak volumes to me of about the barren empty nature of that part of the country as well as capturing the mood of the moment. I exposed through a 0.6 ND graduated filter to bring out the tones in the sky and balance the print.
This silver gelatin fibre-based print is offered here on 16" x 12" paper, window matted to 20" x 16".
Processing is to the highest archival standards and toned in selenium, thiourea and gold - the most archival toners available.
This offer is significantly discounted by £100 at a price of £299 plus post & packaging, and applies only to the first 10 prints ordered.
Details of my usual prices, processing, matting etc can be found on my website print sales section here
This is an open unumbered edition. Each print is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity and advice for taking care of the artwork.
