Although it is not a new negative, 'Tree with Two Cows' has never previously been offered for sale, although the image was published in my second lith printing book 'The World of Lith Printing' as a 10"x8" contact lith print from a digital negative. This is the first time a projected enlargement has been made from the negative.

 

The negative was exposed in a remote valley in New Zealand in gentle light and rain, which gave a lovely soft diffusion effect to the background. I shot just a few frames over a period of time, waiting for the best composition to present itself.

 

The print is a silver gelatin lith print made by me on the much loved, but long discontinued fibre-based Lith paper from Sterling in India. The Sterling plant burned down many years ago and this lovely paper will never be made again. So, although not a limited edition print, numbers will be extremely limited as my small remaining frozen supply of this paper runs out.

It is processed in lith chemicals to current archival standards and selenium toned for aesthetic purposes and enhanced archival protection.

This offer is for two versions in one size only: 16x12" with a 1" border (wider at the base).

Prints are titled and signed in pencil on the front and detailed, titled, dated and signed on verso.

Each print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and instructions of the care of your print.

 

Prints may be shipped either unmounted in archival sleeves, or corner or dry mounted and over matted with quality conservation materials.

Orders will be shipped in strong robust print boxes to ensure safe arrival and should be posted from the U.K. no later than two weeks after the offer closes. 

 

Christmas orders:
